Sprint Specialiser earn big May pay-day

Published: 05/06/2016

Sprint Specialiser regained the lead at the head of the 2016 Toptipster table following a devastating May. Old rivals EachWay Accas also enjoyed a strong month, while Iknowtheloser Premium, JK’s Racing Service, Racing Connections, Peter James and Colwyn Racing also registered May profits.

It was, though, Sprint Specialiser’s month thanks to a yield of 102 points and a return on investment (ROI) of 60.36%. Summersault, a winning 25/1 advice at Windsor (2 May) set the ball in motion and the impetus was maintained thanks to 14/1 advice Harry Hurricane (York, 21 May), 12/1 Imperial Legend (Hamilton Park, 25 May) and Snap Shots (Haydock, 26 May).

For the fourth time in five months, EachWay Accas collected a sizeable profit. The May haul (50.05 points) followed yields of 36.75 points in January, 77.50 points in February and 91.20 points in April.

Ghostly Arc (14/1 advice, Musselburgh, 9 May) headed a string of double-figure priced winners which enabled EachWay Accas to keep tabs on Sprint Specialiser in the 2016 challenge.

And a strong start to June has seen the gap between the front-running pair shrink from 32 points to less than 10.

May was also a good month for Iknowtheloser Premium, who earned a 21.8% ROI, thanks to a 36% strike-rate. Winners were recorded at prices up to and including 9/2 (First Drift, Worcester, 19 May)

Forty-one of JK’s Racing Service’s 59 May bets finished in the first three (69%). This service, in only its second month with Toptipsters, recorded a profit of 10.8 points, finishing fourth in the monthly list.

Finally, a quick word about Early Price Profits. The service, which jointed Toptipsters at the start of June, aims to identify horses that, despite being well-fancied, are considered overpriced. With winners already on the board, we will follow progress closely.
