Sprint Specialiser beat Foresight in August thriller

Published: 30/09/2017

After two loss-making months, Sprint Specialiser returned to winning ways in August, posting a 37.05-point profit. This ensured pole position in the Toptipsters monthly table – the first time since March that the short-distance specialists had claimed monthly honours. Foresight, with a 30.54-point posting, took second position with In Depth Analysis, Sandbets, Blue Ribbon Racing Services, Peter James and TipsterPro all earning August profits.

Sprint Specialiser, winners of last year’s Toptipsters Challenge with a 455.80-point overall profit, began 2017 in similar fashion, notching four consecutive months of profit, before slipping back in June and July. August’s recovery was the result of a steady accumulation of handily priced winners such as Lydiate Lady (9/1, Southwell, 28 August) and Teruntum Star (8/1, Ripon, 19 August). There were also four winners at 6/1. In total, nine of the month’s 62 selections won with a further 13 finishing either second or third.

Foresight joined Toptipsters in February and, in that time, they have posted five profitable months out of seven, including a personal-best 50-point return in April. August’s figure of 30.54 points came about as a result of finding 12 winning selections from 43, a figure which included 8/1 Tajaanus (Newmarket, 12 August).

Five other services posted August profits, with In Depth Analysis adding to their debut month return of 16.12 points with a solid 6.91-point yield. This included three decent priced winners, Isabella (17/2, Thirsk, 5 August), Chilli Jam (6/1, Chelmsford City, 31 August) and Hadley (11/2, Thirsk, 15 August) along with a couple of rewarding each-way bets.

Sandbets made it five winning months out of six, posting a 6.21-point yield. However, they left it late as the profit was secured on the final day of the month, thanks to a winning 25/1 selection, Power Surge (Wolverhampton).

Blue Ribbon Tipping Service, who topped the table in July with a handsome 42.43-point return, delivered a 4.98-point August profit, while Peter James, the longest established Toptipsters operation, made it 18 profitable months out of 26 with a 4.02-point August return.

Five winners and four places from 19 selections secured an August profit for TipsterPro with winning 4/1 tip Havana Grey (Goodwood, 2 August) providing the highlight.

Early Price Profits, who suffered a 16-point August loss, retain their lead at the top of the overall Toptipsters table. A 2017 profit of 356.16 points puts them well clear of Under The Radar, who surrendered their lead after a trying month, but still boast a 269.47-point 2017 yield. Blue Ribbon are third with 216.10 points, followed by Sprint Specialiser (162.78 points), Sandbets (152.60 points) and Foresight (67.86 points).

Finally, this month, a warm Toptipsters welcome to Weekly Winners, the latest addition to our service.  Weekly Winners made a sensational start with three winners (5/2, 11/4 and 9/4) a second and a third from their first five tips. We will follow their progress with great interest.
