Double delight as AB Tips repeat December's triumph

Published: 04/02/2018

All Weather specialists AB Tips, who ended 2017 with a 150-point December profit, again headed the Toptipsters table in January, this time with a 130.35-point gain. Defending champions Under The Radar took second place with 62.16 points ahead of Past The Post Racing (38.61 points), Saturday’s Tips (27.90 points) Early Price Profits (20.28 points), and Foresight (20.25 points).

AB Tips started January spectacularly: their first bet of the year, Midnight Malibu, prevailed at 8/1 at   Southwell on New Year’s Day. The Nottinghamshire track was also the venue for two further early January gambles: 12/1 Tellovoi (3 January) and 22/1 Kody Ridge (5 January). Another two 12/1 winners, Novabridge (Newcastle, 12 January) and Cayuga (Lingfield, 19 January), added to the month’s profits.

Unlike AB Tips, Under The Radar were slow into their stride. At one point on 13 January, they were showing a 72-point loss, but losing sequences are not uncommon for this service. That’s because they look for overpriced candidates, and when the winners come, losses can be obliterated. That was the case last month as, in the space of 24-hours, that loss was transformed into a 58-point profit courtesy of 20/1 Milansbar (Warwick, 13 January) and 33/1 Cosmelli (Southwell, 14 January). Natalie Express (25/1, Lingfield, 24 January) and Star Quality (18/1 Kempton, 27 January) kept the pot simmering, and February has begun sensationally. At the time of writing, Under The Radar are showing a 469.17% ROI, thanks to three winners (9/1, 12/1 and 10/1) from just six bets.

Two 16/1 winners, Buywise (Sandown, 6 January) and Mercers (Lingfield, 12 January) along with 12/1 Caspian Prince (Newcastle, 2 January) ensured that Past The Post Racing would begin 2018 in emphatic style. This service has now posted profits in two months out of three and is one of several exciting new Toptipsters’ tipsters.

Another is Saturday’s Tips, who despite the service name, provide tips on weekdays as well. Mercers (10/1, Kempton, 16 January) was the individual highlight, although a run of seven winning selections out of eight between 17 and 22 January, was also worthy of celebration.

The reliable Early Price Profits, second in the 2016 and ’17 Toptipsters Challenge will be seeking to go one better this year. January was a 15th profitable month out of 20 with 20/1 advice Steel City (Catterick, 11 January), 18/1 What A Dream (Ayr, 15 January) and 12/1 Essential (Southwell, 30 January) leading the way.

Thirteen of Foresight’s 46 January selections were winners with a further 16 finishing second or third.  This added up to a 20.25-point profit – the eighth monthly gain in a year. The year began in celebratory fashion with 9/2 advice striking at Tramore on New Year’s Day. Easy Tiger (6/1 advice, Lingfield, 6 January) and Frodon (17/2 advice, Cheltenham, 27 January) helped to keep the party swinging, while the month ended with a sequence of seven winners from 12 bets from 20 January.

Little Windmill (9/1, Fakenham, 1 January) helped Weekly Winners get the year off to a fine start and a further two winners secured a January profit of 5.80 points.

So, with the early skirmishes consigned to history, it’s time to look ahead. There’s plenty of action in February, but that’s just a taster for the delights to follow in March.
