Accas break the 1000 barrier but the Sprinter wins the day

Published: 08/03/2016

Sprint Specialist repeated January’s table-topping effort with another top spot in February. This time the haul was an impressive 86.05 points, following on from last month’s 67-point yield.

In a further example of déjà vu, EachWayAccas reprised last month’s second position with a commendable 77.5-point profit. This is the sixth time in eleven months that this particular service has broken the fifty-point profit margin and it means that overall profits during this period (April 2015-February 2016) now stand at an astonishing 1011.64 points.

Toptipsters debutant, Leisure Sports Services celebrated their first month with a 35.1 point posting, and third place, ahead of consistent Peter James, who registered a fourth straight month of profit.

Backing sprinters on the all-weather may be considered a challenge too far for some punters, but for Sprint Specialist it appears a doddle, as February’s returns emphasise. Forty selections were given during the course of the month, and eleven were successful (27.5% strike-rate). A further 12 finished second or third. Winners included: 12/1 Point North (Wolverhampton, 12 February), 11/1 Hoofalong (Southwell, 14 February), and two 9/1 strikes, Secret Millionaire (Wolverhampton, 8 February) and Rigoletto (Lingfield, 20 February).

Under normal circumstances, EachWayAccas February return of more than 77.5 points would usually be good enough to claim monthly honours, but this time it meant an honourable second position. Claude Greenwood (11/1, Southwell, 9 February), Point North (12/1, Wolverhampton, 12 February) and 16/1 Goal (Southwell, 28 February) led the way while another half dozen winners were priced between 6/1 and 9/1.

Leisure Sports Services made a dramatic entrance to Toptipsters, advising 9/1 winner Rigoletto (Lingfield, 20 February) and 14/1 Night Alliance (Ffos Las, 21 February) on the first weekend of operations. This early promise was continued with further successes at 7/1, 5/1 and 8/1 over the following few days.

Peter James, fourth in the February list, has made a strong start to the new month and at the end of racing on 7 March, was leading the table, with winning 20/1 advice Nine Altars (Catterick, 1 March) standing out. EachwayAccas have also started the month brightly with seven winners in the first week of action.
