A1 Advice secure monster October profit

Published: 04/11/2020

That testing month, October, belonged to A1 Advice, who secured a massive 103.09-point profit – Toptipsters’ first three-figure monthly profit of the year.

With Flat racing winding down and the jumpers not fully into their stride, October is often a treacherous time for punters and tipping services alike. Form can be all over the place and the changes in climatic conditions also have an impact.

None of this bothered A1 Advice, a value-seeking service who joined Toptipsters back in January. Most selections are advised each-way, and the benefit of this approach was apparent last month. Firstly, though, lets look at the winners. The month really came to light with a brace of winning 10/1 advices on 18 October: Honourmission (Sedgefield) and Sceau Royal (Ffos Las). Better was to come; two days later Alborkan scored at Yarmouth at juicy odds of 16/1. Subsequent successes included Kaizer (15/2, Carlisle, 22 October), Robin Gold (8/1, Lingfield, 22 October), Venturous (Doncaster, 24 October) and Rose To Fame (Taunton, 28 October).

Now the profitable each-way selections. This list is headed by the remarkable Brando. Contesting the Champion Sprint at Ascot for the fifth time, the Kevin Ryan-trained eight-year-old came home second at odds of 80/1 (17 October). Ma Cherie Amour (33/1, Newmarket, 21 October) and Escape The City (28/1, Newbury, 23 October) also earned good each-way money as did selections at 18/1, 16/1 (twice), 14/1 and 12s. (Who needs winners?)

It all added up to a 122.72% return on investment. And, with a strong start to November, A1 Advice are now showing a nice profit for 2020.

Fourteen of Winagainwinners 23 selections last month finished in the first three, with seven winning. The best priced was 11/4 Streets Of Doyen (Cheltenham, 24 October). A small loss was recorded, but with winners appearing at regular intervals, this is a service with potential.

Raff Racing, who returned to action following a six-month break, began the month with a sequence of near-misses, but found their rhythm towards the end of October, thanks to 11/2 Byron’s Choice (Catterick, 27 October) and 9/2 Drumconnor Lad (Ayr, 31 October). Not enough to produce a profit but a move in the right direction.
