2017 Toptipsters' Review

Published: 03/01/2018

Having led the table for much of the year, it was only fitting that Under the Radar should finish 2017 at the head of the Toptipsters’ table.

With an overall profit of 744.47 points, they ended the year with an advantage of more than 93 points over Early Price Profits. The 2016 winner, Sprint Specialiser came third with a haul of 381.13 points, while Sandbets finished fourth, amassing a profit of 283.61 points.

New kids on the block, AB Tips, claimed fifth (146.29 points) with Foresight (110 points), Blagsters Top Tips (88.29 points) and Weekly Winners (27.66 points) claiming the next three positions.

Under the Radar joined Toptipsters in December 2016 and, thanks to a debut month profit of 127 points, their impact was immediate. That promise was fulfilled as a sequence of huge monthly profits followed in 2017. The year opened with a 293-point yield in January, followed by a 272-point haul in May, a 248-point profit in October, and then in November, a bookie bludgeoning 317-point win – the third best monthly gain in Toptipsters’ history.

Under the Radar led the table from January through to July, but a mid-year slump briefly handed the initiative to Early Price Profits, who soon soared into a commanding lead; by the end of September they held a 159-point advantage. Then, sensationally, Under the Radar regained their early season form, adding 565-points of profit to their overall tally in just two months.

For their part, Early Price Profits were a model of consistency, notching nine profitable months in 2017 – six of which were yields of more than 50 points. They also won three monthly crowns, one less than the champions. Having finished third in 2016, Early Price Profits is a service that appears to be heading for glory.

In 2016, Sprint Specialiser won the Toptipster challenge with a 455.80-point yield. A year on and a 381.13-point return resulted in third position. They finished strongly collecting a 95.65-point December profit, with an eye-catching 104% return on investment (ROI).

Sandbets finished fourth in the 2017 listings, posting an overall gain of 283.61 points, despite failing to win a monthly title. Again, consistency was the key as eight out of nine months produced profits, with April’s debut-month return of 122 points standing out.

AB Tips are a recent addition to the Toptipsters’ roster. After a quiet start, their fortunes changed dramatically in December as a 144.10-point yield won the last monthly title of the year. This treasure-chest was spearheaded by the success of 25/1 advice Temple Road (Lingfield, 12 December) and also featured two winners at 14s, one at 11s and another at 10s. 2018 has dawned brightly with, at the time of writing, a 67% strike-rate and a staggering 363% ROI.

Thanks to seven profitable months out of 11, Foresight posted a 110-point 2017 profit, earning sixth place in the overall table. This service is based on a ratings system and has enjoyed success on the Flat and over jumps. The 2017 highlights include a run of six winners out of seven at the start of September, which helped secure a 93% ROI that month, and a 49.65 profit back in April.

Followers of Blagsters Top Tips struck gold in November when a 92.06-point profit was earned. This helped to achieve an overall 2017 posting of 88.29 points. Weekly Winners finished one place behind Blagsters Top Tips in eighth position, thanks to a 2017 yield of 30.66 points, while Past The Post Racing also posted a small 2017 profit. And this is another service to start the new year brightly, curtesy of 10/1 Newcastle winner Caspian Prince (2 January). The same horse was advised by The Info Line, helping their subscribers to start 2018 with a bang.

A November ROI of 52% was the highlight of Tony Mc Racing’s 2017, while Tipster Pro recorded strike-rates of 50% or better in both October and November, registering a 49% ROI in the latter month.

With so many services posting impressive profits and ROI’s in 2017, there is much to celebrate. And, if you are serious about making your betting pay in 2018, there are plenty of choices with Toptipsters.
