Sparkling M & S Racing enjoy debut-month success

Published: 06/02/2019

M & S Racing, one of three recent additions to the Toptipsters’ roster, made a sensational entrance, finishing January in pole position with an impressive 58.44pt profit. Profit Club Official finished second on 20.61pt with The Info Line third and Sprint Specialiser fourth.

Nine of M & S Racing’s debut month 28 selections prevailed (32% strike-rate), while a further four earned each-way returns. The roll-call of winners was headed by 16/1 Southwell victor Royal Cosmic (24 January) and 7/1 Our Dot’s Baby (Newbury, 16 January). Bangor selection Timeforaspin, who finished third at 33/1 on8 January also made a significant contribution towards January’s glittering return.

M & S have continued January’s good form into February, with all three of this month’s selections scoring.

Profit Club Official made it four winning months out of five with a rock-solid 20.61pt January return. 18 winning selections were augmented by more than 50 seconds and thirds, many contributing each-way money to the pot. Winners included two 10/1 shots, Sighan (Lingfield, 19 January) and Wig Wam Waggle (Newcastle, 15 January) along with a 9/1 chance and three at 8s. The overall win/place strike-rate was 38% but, the equivalent return for period between 21 and 31 January was a staggering 57%.

The Info Line began the new year in great style, racking up five winners from seven selections between 1 and 11 January. This sequence included 5/1 Musselburgh winner Ballynanty (7 January) and Lostintranslation (3/1), successful at Prestbury Park on the opening day of the year. The month ended with an extremely satisfactory 13.50pt profit, and third place in the January list.

Sprint Specialiser, Toptipsters’ Champion back in 2016 and third and second in the last couple of years, started 2019 steadily with a 7.91pt January profit. Moonraker ensured New Year’s Day would be celebrated in style, winning at Southwell at 15/2. Foxy Boy (7/1, Wolverhampton, 19 January) was the best priced of four further January winners.

Best Value Tipping Service’s quiet but efficient progress continued in January with a 2pt profit, following yields of 15.50pt and 1.45pt in November and December. Not headline making perhaps, but no other Toptipsters service with more than a month of results, can boast a 100% winning-month strike-rate.

What impresses with Best Value is that profits have been secured despite selections’ prices averaging almost 11/1. A January strike-rate of just 7% ensured a profit thanks to the victories of Cosmic Landscape (25/1, Wolverhampton, 14 January), Lastani Beach (11/1, Lingfield, 15 January), With Approval (10/1, Kempton, 5 January) and Uno Mas (9/1, Hereford, 2 January). Lots of good priced tips also went close, suggesting a big pay-day awaits.

Narrowly missing out in January were Sandbets and defending champions Early Price Profits, but both gave clear indications that better days beckon. And the other two January debutants, TVRacingTips and Sovereign Racing, both displayed early promise; their progress will be watched with interest, particularly with the showcase meetings at Cheltenham and Aintree looming on the horizon.
